Sun exposure, salt water, chlorine and even sweat can damage your natural hair. Yes, you heard right. Swimming is rough on hair since pulling moisture from your strands, leaving them dry and prone to breakage. Chlorine pools can be the absolute worst if you frequent to use, as the chlorine acts as bleach on hair. Moreover, salt water damage the hair full cuticle and lead to hair become dryer and dryer.

 

But How can I swim with my hair?? Here is some tips for you:

 

  1. Wet your hair with fresh water. This keeps the chlorine or salt from being absorbed as deeply.
  2. After wetting your hair, apply a generous amount of conditioner to the hair extensions to avoiding the tangle or shedding.
  3. Put your hair in a braid. A swimming cap will give extra protection.
  4. Wash and condition your hair after exposure to salt or chlorine.
